Spotted – Blu’s Big Bang Big Boom

July 7, 2010

Italian street artist, Blu, best known for his large-scale graffiti murals and accomplished animations. His murals and animations are often stories without words, executed with a clean line and a rare imagination.
(from Street Sketchbook – Tristan Manko)

I was already a big fan of Blu’s sketches and murals. But only today did I discover his animations on Juxtapoz. I watched in awe! What a gigantic piece of work. Such inspiration and fine execution. The videos are quite long, even more so when you realise how many photo’s and buckets of paint went into these projects, but if you’ve watched one, I’m sure you’ll be curious about the rest of his work. Worth your time!

Check out  the Blank Page by George Metaxas. It’s a stop motion video on the fear of the blank page. The technique, the colours, the music, the atmosphere,… great job!

If you want to know more about the Blank Page and why George Metaxas had to sleep on his couch for four months in order to make this video. Check out the interview on the Design Federation website.
